There are obvious advantages to having cotton babydoll nighties over the synthetic varieties , and is my preference too, warm in winter and cool in summer , though oddly the preference leans toward the long sleeved baby doll version in the summer and the spaghetti strapped in the winter .

The reasons for this are outlined in the sleepwear for women article , but to recap , the body is more likely to cover the arm in a cooler house , and uncover in a warmer house , and thus exposure to the cool air and draughts at the elbows and shoulders is minimised in the summer by a long sleeved cotton babydoll nighty , by making the body satisfied that a cooling effect has been made , solely by rolling down the bedclothes , even though your body is still covered by a long sleeved thin babydoll, or cotton nighdress

 Cotton also has the ability to feel warm to touch when you are cold , and  cool when you are hot, though can be too warm or too cool , when you need it most , and has a much shorter wash life!
